Choose Wearton if you want an app that knows which colors suit you, an AI stylist you can ask anything, and a way to try clothes on your own photo before you buy. Choose Whering if you want a free closet, a big community where you share closets with friends, and packing lists for your trips.
We make Wearton, so we are not neutral. Below we compare the two apps feature by feature, and we say where Whering is better too.

Where Wearton is better
It knows which colors suit you. Whering’s Colour Palette shows “your go-to hues and gaps”: the colors you own. It does not say whether they suit you. In the Wearton phone app (coming soon), one selfie gives you your color season (one of 12), your undertone and a palette of about eight colors, like the Soft Autumn palette. On the web, you can pick your season by hand today. Every piece in your closet and on your wishlist then shows how well it suits you. Whering shows what you own. Wearton shows what suits you.
Its stylist answers your questions. In Whering, Dress Me shuffles your closet, and the Outfit Maker is a $4.99 purchase. Hooky, Wearton’s AI stylist, is a chat. Ask what to wear to a dinner, plan your week, or ask if a piece is worth buying. Hooky answers in seconds, in your language. It works from your closet, your colors, your body type if you add it, and today’s weather.
It dresses you for how the weather feels. Whering’s planner now suggests outfits for the weather too. Wearton goes further: it uses the feels-like temperature, not just the number on the thermometer. Wind matters: in a 12 mph (20 km/h) wind, 60 degree weather (15.6 °C) can feel like 51 °F (10.6 °C). Tell Wearton how yesterday felt, and it learns whether you run warm or cold.
It helps you decide before you buy. The wishlist shows how well a piece suits your colors, how many of your clothes it goes with, and whether you already own something similar. Try the piece on your own photo first. Whering’s store pages do not list virtual try-on.
It speaks your language, in more browsers. Wearton works in 15 languages, as a web app and as an extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Whering has 6 languages, and its extension is for Chrome.

How to move from Whering to Wearton
- Join Wearton with your email below, and open the Wearton web app.
- Add the pieces you wear most first. Take a photo of each, or open its product page in your browser and add it with the Wearton extension.
- Pick your color season in your profile. The selfie test comes with the phone app.
- Open the Today page in the morning. Wearton picks an outfit from the clothes you have added, and gets better as your closet grows.
Can I move my closet from Whering to Wearton?
Yes, piece by piece. We do not know of a Whering export that Wearton can read, so you add your clothes again: by photo, or from each piece’s shop page with the Wearton browser extension.
Does Whering have color analysis?
No. Whering’s Colour Palette counts the colors in your closet and shows your “go-to hues and gaps”. It does not find your color season or undertone, so it cannot say which colors suit you. Wearton finds your season, undertone and palette from a single selfie in its phone app, coming soon. On the web, you can pick your season now.
Does Whering plan outfits for the weather?
Yes. Its October 2026 update says the planner “now suggests outfits based on your wardrobe and the weather”. Wearton picks an outfit of the day for the feels-like temperature, wind and rain, and learns from your answers whether you run warm or cold.
Does Whering have an AI stylist?
Not one you can chat with. Whering suggests outfits in its planner, shuffles your closet with Dress Me, and sells an Outfit Maker for $4.99. Wearton’s AI stylist, Hooky, is a chat: it answers your questions from your closet, your colors and the weather.
Is Whering free?
Mostly. The Whering closet is free and has no subscription. Credits cost from $2.99 for 10 to $12.99 for 100, and the Outfit Maker costs $4.99, on the US App Store. The Wearton phone app has a paid plan.
Can I use Wearton on my computer?
Yes. Wearton works in your browser, as a web app and as an extension for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. To see what to wear in your city right now, try the What to wear today tool. It needs no sign-up.
