What to wear tomorrow

Type your city or use your location. You see today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow side by side: how the morning, afternoon and evening will feel outside, and what to wear.

Quick answer: dress for tomorrow's "feels like" temperature in the morning, the afternoon and the evening, not only for the high of the day. At 10 °C (50 °F) or less, wear a warm knit and a coat. Above 18 °C (64 °F), wear something light. If the morning and the afternoon are in different bands, wear layers you can take off.

How the tool plans tomorrow

For tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, the tool reads the hourly forecast of the place at three local hours: 8:00 (8 am) for the morning, 13:00 (1 pm) for the afternoon and 19:00 (7 pm) for the evening. Each hour gets a band by its "feels like" temperature, the temperature your body feels with the wind, the humidity and the sun.

The band and the advice of the whole day come from 13:00, the middle of the day out. When the three hours are not all in one band, the tool says to wear layers. For example, 6 °C (43 °F) in the morning and 14 °C (57 °F) in the afternoon are cold and mild: a light layer over a warm knit is easier than one heavy coat.

The sun, wind and rain tips use the highest UV index, the strongest wind and the highest chance of rain of the whole day. Each part of the day also shows its own chance of rain, so you can see if the rain comes in the morning or in the evening.

The first card is today at 13:00, because you know today: you dressed for it. The cards of tomorrow and the day after tomorrow are 13:00 too, so you can set the numbers side by side. Tomorrow says how many degrees warmer or colder it is than today, and the day after tomorrow says the same against tomorrow. The tool does not compare with now: at night it is almost always colder than tomorrow afternoon will be.

Plan tomorrow's outfit from your own clothes

This page knows only the weather. The Wearton web app also knows your closet. Its Today page shows an outfit of the day made from the clothes you own, and after a day out it asks how you felt, and moves your personal "feels like" temperature up or down.

The Wearton phone app, for iPhone and Android, also reads your calendar and plans outfits for the events of the next days, with the forecast of each day, up to 10 days ahead. It is coming soon.

Questions about what to wear tomorrow

What should I wear tomorrow?

Type your city at the top of this page. Dress for the "feels like" temperature of the hours you are out. At 10 °C (50 °F) or less, a warm knit and a coat. Above 10 °C and up to 18 °C (64 °F), a light layer you can take off. Above 18 °C, something light and breathable. If the morning and the afternoon are in different bands, wear layers.

Will it be colder tomorrow than today?

The first card shows today at 13:00 (1 pm). The tomorrow card shows tomorrow at 13:00, and how many degrees warmer or colder it will feel than today. Both are the "feels like" temperature, so a windy day can be colder than a calm one with the same air temperature.

Why does the tool say to wear layers?

Because tomorrow's morning, afternoon and evening are not all in one band. For example, it can feel cold at 8:00 and mild at 13:00. Layers let you take one piece off in the afternoon and put it back on in the evening.

Which hours does the tool use?

8:00 (8 am), 13:00 (1 pm) and 19:00 (7 pm) in the local time of the place you typed, not in the time of your computer. The band and the advice of the day come from 13:00.

Do I need an umbrella tomorrow?

Each part of the day shows its chance of rain. Take an umbrella if the chance is high for the hours you are out. When the highest chance of rain of the day is 40% or more, the tool also says to leave suede at home.

How sure is tomorrow's forecast?

A forecast for tomorrow can still change, most of all the chance of rain and the hour it starts. Check again in the morning before you go out. The forecast comes from the weather service named under the result.

Can I plan more than one day ahead?

This tool shows tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The Wearton phone app shows the forecast up to 10 days ahead in its calendar and plans outfits for your events with it. It is coming soon for iPhone and Android.

Is the tool free?

Yes. It is free and needs no sign-up and no account. To stop abuse, one address can ask up to 20 times a minute.

Do you keep my location?

No. If you use your location, your browser rounds it to about 1 km before it sends it, and it is never put in the page address. Our server uses it only to get the forecast and does not store it or write it in logs. If you type a city, the city is added to the page address, so you can bookmark or share the result.
